Condemning Carla Bruni as a Defense for Wanting to Stone Sakineh?

Remember those letters written by Bruni, Adjani, D'Estaing and Royal? They seem to have unhinged the Iranian government-driven, or should we say Supreme Leader-driven, media.

"Studying Carla Bruni's record clearly shows the reason why this immoral woman is backing an Iranian woman who has been condemned to death for committing adultery and being [an] accomplice in her husband's murder and, in fact, she herself deserves to die," Iranian newspaper Kayhan wrote.

Really? The best that the Khamenei/Sharia justice team can come up with is calling Carla Bruni Sarkozy a prostitute who deserves to die? When faced with world-wide criticism for planning to stone Sakineh, the Iranian State media counters letters from well-known French individuals with mud-slinging and suggestions that Bruni-Sarkozy deserves to be executed herself? Way to burn your relationship with one of your longtime Western connections, Mr. Khamenei. Way to go...

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has reported that Sakineh is undergoing psychological torture. She was evidently subjected to a mock execution by hanging. After writing a will and embracing her fellow cellmates, she wasn't hanged. Her friends and family have also been denied visits after being told she didn't want to see them, and she in turn has been told she has no visitors.

Sakineh, no one is going to forget you. No. One.
